Integrity is an absolute, you either act with Integrity or not. But there is a debates over whether you can act with absolute integrity in some aspects of life but not others? The perception of Integrity can become blurred by the person who believes they are acting with Integrity either because they dont understand way they are doing or they want people to try they are acting a certain way The perception of Integrity can become blurred by people viewing other peoples actions either because they are being deceived or it suits their agenda to believe one way or the other [Post edited 24 May 2022 13:47]

So not sure integrity can be an absolute within us – I certainly have never met someone who acts with integrity all the time in all areas. But it can be ultimately important, and people can and do put their integrity before their own interests when it comes down to it. So more foundational and deep-seated than a quality that we can expect to see on a daily basis. If this is about politicians, I think very few have the deeper kind (almost disqualifies them in modern party politics) and most like to just signal the superficial kind instead. That “Trust me” appeal is the main tool of all con artists. | |
