That’s an astonishing level of concentration and focus. Incredible stats.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

I was lucky enough to be there yesterday, I've watched a lot of cricket but think yesterday tops the lot. India look well beaten if you ask me.

Nice. Watching on TV I didn't see much of the Indian innings but Lees and Crawley really set the tone for this chase from the off.

India only looked lively in that 20 minutes either side of Tea. I guess Kohli is doing less chuntering this morning than he was then.

And then does stuff like this:

Baristow gets his century too, 21 needed.

My prediction for Bairstow in this test has aged rather well

I’m one of those. And the more I’m critical of him the more he comes back and makes me eat my words. So I’m going to carry on knocking him and I will confidently predict he’ll bag a pair against India next week [bounce]

Just ridiculous how they've pulled this off.

Astonishing run of wins. Indians needed to bat to tea yesterday. Bairstow and Root in stupid form.

Just think what total we could have successfully chased down with the overs remaining. Assuming we'd have been able to get through the new ball even 450+ might not have been enough.

Utterly ridiculous. They made that look so comfortable, they were never in trouble. Root finishes with an average of 100+ for this series, incredible.

What a chase that is, Bazzaball is the one. England making 20/20 mode work for test cricket

The ease in which we are doing this is crazy. Opposing teams are going to start to think that batting 2nd is the only way to beat us at this rate, which is going to cause them quite the headache at the toss.

Fantastic achievement. They’re revolutionising how test cricket is played.

Well done all of them, players and management.

But it's calcuated T20 mode. Root and Bairstow scored at just over two an over for the first period of their partnership, then accelerated once well in, the ball soft and the bowlers worn down.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Exactly right. It’s helped of course by modern bats, physically stronger players, range hitting and the development of shots. Just imagine Boycott playing the ramp shot, let alone Root’s new slingshot one. Amazing.

Agreed, esp Root and Bairstow who unlike Crawley have got themselves in a bit first and accelerated.

If ZC could see get through 15 overs or so before unfurling those cover drives he might show himself to be a test player.
