Seen it all before? 21:58 - Aug 20 with 1450 views | Pendejo | Or ain't seen nothing yet? It's August, we've seen false dawns before haven't we? The difference is we knew they were false dawns, we knew The team wasn't as good as the results. As I've written before I have hopes not expectations. But it does feel different. COYB!

Seen it all before? on 22:02 - Aug 20 with 1395 views | Garv | I've only seen Bolton this season and that wasn't particularly excellent (although should have been won) but I look back to the games at the back end of last season and I remember how much we absolutely controlled games and gave weekly football lessons. We've added goals and I'm enjoying how they're coming at different times of games.

But the previous false dawns we had Lambert at the helm, as well as a team of mentally fragile players who were past their peak, or dross brought in by Hurst (with the odd exception of course).

For the first time we have a very clear purpose on the pitch. We can see what KM is trying to do with the team and approach. It is early doors but it's as good a start as we could have hoped for and one we can build on. I'm as confident as I've ever been we are heading in the right direction. Seen it all before? on 22:31 - Aug 20 with 1240 views | Churchman | It feels different. We seem organised on and off the pitch. The players seem comfortable with each other and we have strength in depth in most areas of the pitch. In the Lyall promotion year 1991/92, we started the season well then got thumped by Swindon. The next game was Southend at home. Ok we didn’t thrash them, but at the end of a 1-0 win I just knew we were going to have a good season. No real logic to it. We just felt ‘right’. And so it proved. I have all these years on that same feeling this season. It could be too much alcohol and senility, but I don’t think so.

Your point one is so true but is lost on a ridiculous portion of our fanbase. It's not going to be perfect, it's not going to be easy but bloody hell we are in a great position right now so let's enjoy the ride.

I was at both of those games and I totally agree about it feeling right. We were given an absolute masterclass by Glenn Hoddle paying in that sweeper position but I still felt like it was an anomaly. Also, I don't think I've ever seen a penalty hit so hard before or since Neil Thompson belted that one in the top corner against Southend.

Hoddle was phenomenal that day, absolutely bossed the game, in modern terms I bet his distance covered stats were similar to the goalies but he was on a different level to every other player on the pitch.

Agree Hoddle masterclass, really enjoyed that game. But it wasn't just Hoddle was it? Mickey Hazard also in that team IIRC

Seen it all before? on 07:20 - Aug 21 with 657 views | PioneerBlue | There is a basis for being positive! We haven’t seen it all before either. This is different to Lyall era, different even to Burley and Sheepo era. This is club reset, rebuild with investment to accelerate the plans and objectives in a way that was never there for Lyall, and quicker than planned with Burley. I mean the club off field is unrecognisable perhaps looking more like Burley/ Sheepo times, investment in coaching, sports science medicine data is light years ahead the 90s/20s, the player recruitment has been done over 2 main windows at pace but summer 2 more targeted. With all that there is a backlog of performances and history of points collection with clean sheets since Jan, the game prep is there to see and the capability to tactically out wit opponents in game is novel! Even with all this nothing is certain in football, players suddenly leave, players get injured at the wrong time. We should be humble as supporters when taking on L1 opposition, I feel privileged that GC20 picked ITFC to transform, we should be positive the club is going places. Up the leagues we go.
