Life in the 'hood 21:43 - Aug 22 with 1803 views | Pendejo | The place I live is surrounded by green spaces, a few minutes walk in any direction you'll find parks and leafy glades, but every now and again there's a reminder that we live in a 'hood. Gang violence bubbles up every now and again, as it did last night. A driver of a Zipcar rammed two motorbike riders, then reversed overthem. This happened more or less opposite our front door. Youngest Offspring ran out to administer first aid. Unsurprisingly the Zipcar driver drove off. Friends of the motorcyclists carried one away in a semi-finals state, the other they were unable to carry away due to him screaming in pain (later learned he had a suspected broken pelvis). Cue flooding of the estate with blues and twos; paramedic, ambulance and multiple police vehicles. YO advised the paramedics what she'd done and was told by some onlookers not to be speaking to them last there were reprisals from the local gang. She was talking to a paramedic trying to help the victim of a bit and run... On our way home tonight, using a rat run route we'd not normally use... What do we come upon? A smashed up Zipcar, stopped to take photos and log its position. Since we've lived here there have been at least 4 murders that I can remember, a case of modern slavery (next door to us), indiscriminate shots fired at local shop and numerous bike thefts... But honestly these are edited lowlights, normally it's ok. Forgot to add this charmer used to live 400 yards away https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delroy_Grant [Post edited 22 Aug 2022 21:45]

In order to sell a house, that’s a pretty risky tactic to use.

Is he wise telling people the story? I mean, it's not the strongest selling point.

I reckon buenaventura ..... didn’t I read something recently saying walberswick was the poshest village in Suffolk.... I think poshest in this sense was average house price which of course we all know does not necessarily equal posh

Indeed. There is though a house there was dismantled in Lavenham in the early 20th century and re-erected in Walberswick. https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101030686-the-mercers-hall-walberswick

It's full of people who think they are exceedingly posh for living there though, and are all completely barking mad with it | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Walberswick, Aldburgh Cove Hythe, always seem to be desired by 2nd home owners. I se nothing in any of them that would make me want to live there! Aldburgh especially! I’ll have Thorpeness and Southwold though. Ipswich seems to be going through a little spate of knife related incidents at the moment, though general public are safe enough it seems. Here in good old Felixstowe it still seems quite sedate, just the steady influx of immigrants. From Essex…

Evidence of their collective insanity from a few years ago.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-21340522 I think similar madness infected Aldeburgh Parish Council a few years earlier.
