Smoke detectors 04:32 - Nov 4 with 1144 views | hatch | 1. Why do the batteries always go in the middle of the night? 2. The one that just went had a sticker on it saying ‘replace by Nov 2022’ - it has been there for over 10 years I think - is it just coincidence that the first time it goes is 2 days inside the month?
Smoke detectors on 09:38 - Nov 4 with 1028 views | ghostofescobar | Do you have young children? If you do, just place them on fire watch patrols around the house through the nights. Problem solved.

Smoke detectors on 09:44 - Nov 4 with 1016 views | NthQldITFC | Could it be that the camera has a very long depth of field, and that the label on the battery was orientated in such a way that it was visible to the camera, and that THEY have shares in Ever Ready? Please don't read this in the same room as the smoke alarm, because I don't want THEM coming round here.

Smoke detectors on 11:25 - Nov 4 with 911 views | Gogs | the question i've been asking recently is why did my next door neighbour leave it over a week before she changed the battery in her smoke detector, leaving the damn thing beeping every 30 seconds day and night. I could hear it clearly through the wall and it was keeping me awake at night, god knows how she managed to put up with it for that long. As far as I know she's not deaf

In the summer, a house at the back of us had their fire alam go off the whole week they were away! haha Not great when it was quite hot and needed the windows/door open most of the time. It felt strange when it finally went off!
Smoke detectors on 11:48 - Nov 4 with 886 views | BloomBlue | Re 1. I totally agree with very annoying, to prevent it I removed the batteries from our smoke detectors years ago and not suffered that battery issue since then | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Smoke detectors on 11:52 - Nov 4 with 868 views | GeoffSentence | It is a wicked trick played by the manufacturers. Never, ever do they go at a reasonable, awake time. My worst one was when a smoke detector battery went in the middle of the night triggering that irritating alarm. Two battery changes later it was still happening, obviously must have been dud batteries so rushed off to the 24 hour tesco to get some new ones. Still didn't fix it. Which was when I realised it was the carbon monoxide detector going off, not the smoke alarm.

Absolutely the wrong people to ask, if you really want an answer from Them you need to talk to Van Morrison...

The best way to stop a fire alarm going off inside a locked up, uninhabited house is to burn said house down. Probably.
