I think that’s a clumsily worded reference to the fact their men’s and women’s teams both play this weekend.

But there really isn't much choice is there? Crest or shield. No differences in style, the lion is the same it's just A or B Our badge is excellent.
Good fan engagement by Villa on new crest on 04:25 - Nov 5 with 2504 views | Kropotkin123 | I think ours does need changing. Too much red. Don't need football club written on it. Too compartmentalized. On that note, just got my Christmas hoodie through with this on it. It was the only thing I'd accept. What a beauty.

Two things struck me 1. Someone had already messed with the badge and the lion had "originally"(?) been facing right 2. That left facing is described as looking backward and right facing forward... Which I guess is because we read left to right, but have to admit it seems like a political slight. I think they should use both. Crest home, circle away.

Almost choked on my facon at your suggestion of dropping football club, got angry with you then thought... I guess it is superfluous, it's not like we have to distinguish ourselves from a rugby, cricket or darts club.d The horse with the ball is the ultimate in minimalist that imparts our identity.

I’m surprised how many don’t like their current badge - 76% I think, and 90%+ keen on a change. But then seeing the new designs show how bad the current one is, so I can see where they’re coming from. I liken both and reckon they’ll pick the circular one. I like our badge - I wouldn’t change it.

Having the name in full is a big improvement. Our badge is iconic. The last revamp was around 1995 I think.

I like the current crest and if it was my choice, I wouldn't change it. The only acceptable change would be to just this (minus the hat), but I worry we'd go for a cheap, generic looking crest as seen in the OP. Have noticed that the club uses a deconstructed crest at the end of videos, so suspect they are at least toying with the idea of just the 'orse.

I agree the Suffolk Punch in our badge is iconic and is the most important thing as it is well and truly part of the club's identity. That said I wouldn't be against a slight revamp. Maybe having a circle badge with the Suffolk Punch in the middle, maybe change the colour of the babe back to yellow as the yellow badge always stood out more than the current one. This minus the hat is great, but it would be good if it could somehow include the castle-y turret bit at the top as well

We should not change it. It's just change for the sake of change. We have a proportionate approach. But it's odd to see a totally unofficial badge used on the planning application by our architects. Not sure what's going on there. Norwich fan work for them perchance...?

I've never understood the logic that left facing is looking backwards. I've always seen left facing as forwards. When my eyes scan across a page (left to right) and see our badge, if the horse is facing left then it's the head I see first followed by the body - is that not forwards? To me the Villa lion is now looking backwards.
