You take the rough with the smooth with Harness. Out of possession he gets through so much work, fit as a butchers dog and presses so well from that number 10 position. Facing goal he’s dangerous, can finish, has scored some really vital goals for us this season already. At times he can frustrate, touch is often loose or his execution of a final ball. That said, if he did what he does and also looked after the ball like Morsy he wouldn’t be playing in L1.
Agree re. that tug, I don’t think he needed to make the challenge, seemed a bit instinctive and sloppy. |  |

Harness was easily our biggest attacking threat with the positions he takes up and his runs into the box. And he got through a sh!tton of good work off the ball too.
He'd have been a candidate even without the match-winning goal and assist. So nah... no real contest for MOTM. | |

It’s one of those that’s a good foul when nothing comes of it, but when Morsy does it at Charlton and they score from the resulting free kick, it halves a 2 goal lead and it’s squeaky bum time (which ultimately proved costly).
On this occasion no harm done.

My biggest gripe with Harness is his consistency.
He's capable of a great bit of skill, scoring a goal or grabbing an assist.
Then 30 seconds later he'll completely fluff something up and will go missing for the next 20 minutes. In some games he's completely inneffective and will do nothing.
I guess that's League One for you. If he was consistent he'd be in the Championship. |  |

Yeah, I remember Pompey fans saying pretty much the same when we signed him and can see where they were coming from now. On his day he can be a game changer in this division, but frustratingly inconsistent even over a 10 minute spell. |  |

Harness did well yesterday, I thought other were ahead of him in terms of performance but you can't argue with a goal and an assist. Touch is frustrating at times but his workrate is excellent and people seem to ignore his and Chaplin's role in defending and stifling teams from the front when they're not scoring. Chaplin was pretty unlucky not to come away with an assist yesterday but Harness did not quite manage to get enough on it but great that we did not have to wait long for the first goal . | | | |

Agreed. Davis is ridiculously good for this level.
Remarkable that we have a left side now that’s outperforming the right side regularly. Partly due to defences trying to stifle the threat of Burns/Donacien I’m sure. But don’t remember that happening even once last season.
The balance throughout the team (left to right, back to front) is just so much better this year with players like Davis, Ladapo and Harness added into the mix. | |

Doesn't that describe every good attacking player? Effective ones unlock things on a reasonably regular basis. If one attacking playing really fires one in 3 or 4 matches you likely score a few goals.
You want more consistent results from defensive players. |  |
