Not really. Which is a shame, as this is a tounament where England could do well.
But I think the lack of anticipation has as much to do with the time of year as all the dubiousness surrounding this year's Cup. I'm more emotionally involved in Ipswich's progress in the League and our own cups. |  |

Interesting, I've not spoken to a many people (can't actually think of any) who are excited about the world cup. Most of them don't even think it should be going ahead and the time of year is ridiculous.
It's not likely but there is a chance it won't finish given the way FIFA and Qatar are behaving at the moment

I’ll be honest, I actually am getting very excited now the tournament’s starting but I’m maybe 20% less excited than I have been for previous world cups.
I was listening to Tim Vickery speak the other day, who’s a South American Football expert, and he said that over there the human rights record of Qatar has barely been discussed and isn’t seen as an issue, which I found interesting. |  |

I rarely post here, so hardly one “who shouts loudest”. Today will be the first opening game of a World Cup I haven’t watched since 1970, when I was 3 and had little idea the competition was on. I have no “excitement” or interest in this World Cup (I didn’t even realise cut was starting today until Friday). Previous competitions I would try not to miss a game if possible. This one I have already lined up some non league fixtures to attend instead. To summarise: I have no interest whatsoever. | | | |
