You've normally got TJJ, Edwards and Aluko, Harness and Chaplin all competing for those two positions behind the striker, at the moment you literally have Edwards and Chaplin starting with no backup
The same for Morsy and Humphreys in what was a very physical battle, no Evans or Ball to reduce the pressure on them | |

He was fine first half, normal self
2nd half, he made Humphreys look like the experienced player.
People rave about him as captain, but IMO we've yet to actually see Morsy give a full captains performance.. one where he picks his side up and see's a game out with them. He was more interested in Batty tonight and if he could make him snap. | |

Morsy's job is to control the midfield. To put his foot on the ball and make sure he passes it on to a man in blue. To challenge and win possession, turning defence into attack. Tonight, particularly second half, he did neither. And the outnumbered excuse can only go so far - there were a number of times he surrended possession either by being weak in the challenge or by playing a bad pass.
I agree, it'd be moronic if I said he plays like that all the time. He's such a key component and, with him struggling, we put in that performance. | |
