With added Professor Alice Roberts for those who like that kind of thing.

....it's well written, well acted, gently funny, heartwarming entertainment.

Beautifully locally (to me anyway) filmed.

Watch it from the start if you can, it's probably on iPlayer or some such other platform type arrangement.

Fantastic news! I hadn't heard this, so thanks for mentioning.
Genuinely my favourite program of all time, I may have shed a tear or two when it ended...

Seconded. Top TV and very east-anglian.

One of my favourite shows on TV, ticks so many boxes. Gentle, kind, heart-warming, funny, beautifully acted, directed and written.

Can't wait.

Can confirm it is on iplayer.

Great programme. One or two references to Portman Road as well from memory. Mackenzie Crook and Toby Jones are just delightful in this.

I've just started watching it, onto series 2 now. Perfect comfort telly. Beautifully written and acted. Gentle, warm, tugs on the heart strings just a little, great characters, genuinely funny in places.....plus it's shot in Suffolk and Portman Road gets a mention, so that's enough on its own!

It's brilliant.

Wonderful cast and characters. Beautiful scenery.

But veeeeerrrrryyyyy slooooowwwww.

For me, that's one of the joys. There can be a 5 minute scene with about 6 lines of dialogue in one or two word bursts, interspersed with beeps, close up face reactions, digging, and usually, disappointment.

It's restorative and calming. I guess if a Dane ever told me we can't do Hygge, I would show them Detectorists: the most Hygge show on tv, full of rootedness, community, well-meaning people and roaring fires in cosy pubs. And beautiful East Anglia.

I've pointed out on a previous occasion that Alice Roberts has problems with her bowels.

No, sorry, her vowels. Odd pronunciation.

Just shows that good comedy shows can still be produced. The key I think is it tones down the comedic angle, so doesn't rely on ridiculous characters in the quest for laughs, although with Simon & Garfunkel there is still part of that, but it's more a comedy drama. Binge watched all the shows over the past week - glorious
