Sorry to say but that's a cracking strike.

Yep.

Can’t fault Walton too much for his positioning either considering Pack hits a tiny target at pace, literally squeezing the ball past Walton’s glove and in off the post. It was pretty much perfect.

It wasn’t a fluke but there was luck involved. And, annoyingly, the goal gave Pompey a foothold in the game and hope of a result they scarcely deserved from open play.

I was listening on ifollow, as soon as they said Pack was going to take it, I thought 1-0. Excellent fk

Looks to me that we needed another player on the right hand side of the wall. Was a bit surprised at the time that we went with just a 4 man wall for such a central free kick.

On another note, is there any video of the “offence” that led to the free kick? Decision came so late that my eyes had moved on and were watching the ball after the clearance.

Sorry if already mentioned, but I think that's the first goal we've conceded in the first 15 minutes of a match this season.

It was a cracking strike. It also shows where the error was - the wall was not lined up correctly, albeit only fractionally too far over.

Blame twitter for that. They posted about that record on the weekend.

Watched the "offence" live on iFollow and thought that it was a harsh decision by the referee, as Morsy clearly got to the ball and Koroma came in late, held his foot in the way of Morsy's follow through and went down as quick as you like.

Just watched it back on iFollow with Radio Solent audio, and their commentators' immediate reaction was that it wasn't a foul. Guy Whittingham: "Bit of a strange decision that. I thought Morsy won the ball cleanly, and then Koroma bumped into him"

Our poor luck with refs seems to be continued.

It's a strange foul that seems to be given across the leagues more this season. Saw one on match of the day recently. I'm.not sure what you can do to not give away a freekick in that moment?

The ref appeared on I follow to be saying to morsy the follow through... but how else are you supposed to kick the ball. Even stranger was when ladapo or Jackson can't remember which... did the same thing up the other end and nothing was given.

Thanks. Thought the referring was very inconsistent for both teams. From the highlights it looks to me as though Chaplin was offside tor the late equaliser, so maybe it evens out!

That was pretty much the opinion of the Radio Solent commentators. The ref was poor, but fairly unbiased.

Apparently, Cowley thought our first was clearly offside. I don't know how he could tell from his angle or that of the camera.

If Chaplin was offside, it was a hair width. I have watched it back a few times now. His run was excellently timed and no defender went with him, which might make it seem that he was off.

Perhaps the best place to post that is on the Pompey fans forum if you’re sorry to say it.
Not interested in opposition goals unless it’s seriously good.

Felt it was worth posting tbh as alot if talk on here about Walton at fault. The wall etc.

And also it was a seriously good strike.
