I'm going for a run after work and I've got nice food with me. I use public transport over a car, because a car is unnecessary. Would look a lot stranger if I carried a pile of clothes, trainers and lunch.

What else are you meant to do if you've got lots of things that you want to carry? Say you've got a flask, a book, some food. Should one balance it all on one's head?
Seriously, what's the 'acceptable' alternative? Carrying a briefcase like a briefcase w4nker?
Nothing wrong with wearing a rucksack whatsoever IMO.
Those over the shoulder/cross body 'man bags' however make a man look like scum. I use the word 'man' loosely here because the only people who should wear them are teenage chavs and even then it looks absolutely tragic.
Edit - I should add that I very rarely have cause to wear a rucksack. [Post edited 13 Jan 2023 17:18]
