Third time visiting stadium MK, worst away game and never gets no better. What a soulless place for football. Liquidate MK dons

I take your point but would love to have a ground like that at PR

With a better pitch

I'm sure there was thread about how great the ground is yesterday. I'm not sure it was a p!SS take either.

Very soulless and very empty. Haven't been for a while but parking used to be shocking too. Hopefully it's a bit better now.

Agree soulless place, good outside infrastructure, concourse inside very concrete very poor,
Only thing was the service food and beers was fairly quick considering how many town fans there,

The emptiness doesn't help, but I actually think it's one of the nicer new concrete bowl style grounds.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Agree, best of the concrete bowls but not got a patch of the character of Portman Road.... we are very lucky to have a stadium in the middle(ish) of town , nr the train station and plenty of space round it to develop into as itseems will happen.... I don't want to erase our history

You must be joking? Hasn’t got a patch on Portman road. Another bowl stadium with no personality

I'm not that fussed by it, but it does have the advantage that its layout fosters the whole stand singing the same song.

It's interesting that a few clubs seem to be moving away from the identikit bowl type grounds and going for a more traditional ground layout such as Brighton and Brentford as an example

If you ever did go down the bowl route, you have to have a Kop end factored in, a bit like Spurs on a smaller scale

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

The seat I had at MK yesterday - padded, lots of legroom
V
Where I usually sit in Cobbold

MK comes out on top.
The only problem being the seat numbers so poorly positioned. Geezer in front of us had a discussion with another fella about sitting in ticketed seat as both had same number, just one was clearly in the wrong row.

Second time MK, second nervy 1-0 win.

I like Stadium MK with its idiosyncratic stand to our right, what makes it soulless is a club with no real history (unlike Fleetwood, Accrington, Barrow etc) and consequently lack of proper organically grown support.
Much as I love PR, I'd take Stadium MK template upgrade to 40,000, with up to 10,000 built in for the away fans,.

Was saying this to my friend yesterday, that if their stadium was ours, we’d fill it to the rafters , and I’d reckon the atmosphere would be brilliant. Not sure how big MKD is , but it’s one of the nicer “ soulless “ bowl stadiums I think. .

I liked the stadium. Didn't like the setting. Basically one of those sht commercial estates.

No its my view

PR has lots of history but 30,000 in MK would make more noise than PR.

Pride park will be noisy and decent

Absolutely soulless place. Made worse by the lack of home fan following. I would never swap it for PR but from a pure spectator view you have to credit several things;

Viewing positions all around
Leg room
Ingress and egress
Behind stand space

Hate the surround stadium set up and the food chain outlets albeit ok after game if you book weeks in advance. Nothing shouts lack of community more than a Golden Arches in your immediate stadium eye line, where are the mobile/ local food outlets? Good to see even with all that space for bars, they couldn’t serve a few beers easily to a few thousand away supporters.

Totally agree with this. Was sitting having a chat with my mate before the cup final this afternoon, and I said it was the lack of history which kills it. That place has no soul (not that I believe in such things).

However, it's a great arena to watch "stuff."

P.S. Was it me or did their pre-match promo video seem to go on for about half an hour....?

Is it because you could pop into IKEA at half time for a nice bit of flat pack?
