Might get interesting again now 19:59 - Feb 25 with 2154 views | SomethingBlue | Halving the points gap and gaining +8 in goal difference is as good as things could possibly have got in the last week. Always seemed a bit early to rule out the top two but for the moment it is very much back on, I think we can all agree. Win the next two and I expect there will be some massive pressure on Plymouth by the time they go to face Barnsley and we visit Bolton — which already looks an utterly critical weekend in the season. Interested to see how Plymouth respond to today's hiding — these things can go either way and, to be fair, an on-song Posh can do that to you. I suspect our fate is going to come down to those four away games — Bolton, Barnsley, Derby, Posh — and how well we can handle then.

Might get interesting again now on 23:03 - Feb 25 with 1793 views | Illinoisblue | Feels like it could be about to get interesting. Plymouth have mostly coasted along this season seemingly untroubled by losing Whittaker. Now they’ve lost their keeper and have a few other injuries maybe that will start to take its toll. Trip to Wembley might be a distraction they also don’t really need. Of course they’re still in the driving seat but give it a week or two and all of a sudden the table could look very different. Wednesday are pretty much up already. They’ve been relentless. 20 unbeaten. Ridiculous in any league at any level.

Win those and you never know. None of the four teams you mention have outplayed us and because they will fancy their chances against us at home, I think it’ll give us more opportunity to have ago at them.

Might get interesting again now on 08:17 - Feb 26 with 1224 views | Herbivore | A five point gap with this many games to go certainly isn't unassailable in the way that a ten point gap was looking. Some signs that Plymouth could be having a wobble and they still have many players there who will remember what happened to them last season, as we know it's not always easy to get over those mental scars. I think we have to also acknowledge that the rest of the current top 6 have also been drawn into the race for second now as well. Barnsley and Bolton are in good form, Derby too although that was a thumping they got yesterday and their unbeaten run was mostly founded on beating dross. Those four away games look huge, big tests but arguably the kind of games in which we are likely to get chances ourselves, it'll be whether we're able to take those chances. If we can take 6 or 7 points from those four games it wouldn't be a bad return, but we'd likely need to win all or almost all of our other nine games to be in with a sniff. If we could somehow come through those games with more than that, it would definitely look on. [Post edited 26 Feb 2023 8:26]

I’d take 5 points against Bolton, Barnsley and Derby right now. We certainly can’t afford to lose against Barnsley. With two games in hand in us they could theoretically go two points above us. A defeat would make that 5.

Was including the Peterborough game in my 6 or 7 points, if we could take 5 from Bolton, Barnsley, and Derby that would be a very good return.

Closing the gap will increase the pressure on them and it’ll be interesting to see how they cope with it. It would be great to get within ‘striking distance’ and by that I mean 1 game, or 3 points as we have a favourable goal difference. With back to back home games to come we need to be looking to take maximum points, if we’re sat on 69 with 11 to play then I expect the league table will be looking quite juicy given Plymouth have Charlton and Derby in that time who are both capable of taking points off them.

Might get interesting again now on 10:33 - Feb 26 with 738 views | LankHenners | Hopefully yesterday was an important step to remember how to play away from home again. Against teams that carry more of a threat we'll put ourselves in trouble starting as slowly and timidly as we have been but go into them off the back of, hopefully, a quick fire 6 points at home and we might have our confidence back. Think the race for 2nd (Wednesday are gone) will get very intense and the quirk of the fixture list which sees a lot of the top 8 play each other over the next couple of months means there'll be plenty of twists and drama from here on out. Hold our own in our fixtures against the fellow runners and riders whilst putting away the rest will see us very close to something many had written off a couple of weeks ago.
