Fully agree with you, but being out cheaply is nothing to do with that. Its being out for less than is expected/wanted/needed. Stokes did push the rate, no issues there. But 27 was cheap. | |

If there's one gripe it's that the skip is wasted as whacker at 6, wouldn't be at all surprised if he opens the batting once Bairstow comes back in. His bowling duties are much reduced, excellent technique & plays fast bowling well. He's too good to keep throwing his wicket away in the search for quick runs when there's a gaping lack of quality at the top.

I’d leave the team and Stokes’ position in the batting line up alone. They’re winning games and it feels like when one is off form somebody else steps up - with the exception of Brook who is at the moment stepping up every game.
Bairstow is going to have to wait to get back in the team. The only concern is the openers. Duckett has made runs and is improving. Crawley? It’s good they’re sticking by him and I hope that’s rewarded, but at some point they’re going to have to try an alternative. Bairstow maybe? I see David Lloyd thinks not. |  | | |
