Anyone know of what links (if any) Gamechanger have with them?

Any links in the pipeline with us?

Saw a few bits on twitter

Nothing formal with ITFC yet, but then RIFC is still in the process of being set up. It's a completely new club, altho the project has been in the pipeline for quite a while, well before Johnson became involved with Town.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Well that makes no sense, they want to make money and progress immediately, I can't believe he's been willing to wait for something there.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Yeah okay that's interesting, feels like they are reaching out all over. Nice to get a preseason over in New England, might be the last chance we get to play in Plymouth 😁

It's what he does. It's a different sort of project to the one here - and probably involves a different investment group.

Potentially something in the pipeline. Ashton went over and visited the place recently.

Of course. Could just be being polite.

I think that's where my interest was spiked. It feels like a different project with longer term goals.

So why would someone like BJ get the interest to be involved with such different projects?

Where do you get the time too! Seriously he must never sleep

Coincidentally, last night I was thinking about the club New England Revolution. I was wondering if any club side in the world claims in its name to represent a bigger catchment area (six states).

Altho that involves starting a club from scratch, there are broad similarities. Involves creating a sports-and-leisure hub in a medium-sized town. Which is what Gamechanger are talking about with longer-term plans for the Staples site and the training pitch/fanzone.

Game changer is just a consortium cobbled together by O’Leary to buy Ipswich is it not?

Brett Johnson dabbles in minor league footy clubs through his own investment firm - Rhode Island is perhaps the US equivalent of the Isle of Wight - perhaps more impressively he’s also involved in Tucson, again off his own bat I believe.

There’s big money to be made (and lost) in US sports in surprising areas. The top earners in most US states are college football coaches - so if you can create a ‘sporting hub’ you can tap into big money. There are quite a few high schools with more impressive stadia than Portman Road - let alone colleges. I think Johnson has also persuaded the Ineos bloke’s Chinese sidekick at Nice to get involved in a glossy development for Phoenix Rising’s new ground - coincidentally close to the university.

Would surprise me if there was ever anything formal with any of the US clubs Brett et al are involved in. They're only minor shareholders of Town, the pension fund is the owner as such.
