Is this our biggest game tonight in 20 years ???? 11:01 - Apr 25 with 1237 views | smithy69 | A win tonight barring a real balls up pretty much guarantees promotion i feel - and then the journey can hopefully continue over the next decade to carry us even further forward It just feels so pivotal

Is this our biggest game tonight in 20 years ???? on 11:06 - Apr 25 with 1163 views | thebooks | I guess the Norwich play-off game was bigger, although it perhaps didn't feel it as much. All the disappointment since then and our current momentum makes this feel more important.

Fair point, I forget to count games that didn't go our way!

Yeah, never got nervous about that one, we were lucky to get in the play offs after being top just after Christmas. Bolton away in 02' more damaging, though west ham play offs, 05' especially , was a real blow. This is a big week, but you just get the feeling that this team/management are too mentally strong to get phased by it. Unlike us lot who are all over the place..

Is this our biggest game tonight in 20 years ???? on 11:31 - Apr 25 with 990 views | BigCommon | I thought Posh game was of bigger consequence tbf. Only because a loss there would have heaped the pressure on this one and spurred Tykes and SW on a bit. They are all big, one at a time. But the Posh result was huge. Imo. Not just for our momentum. But it was definitely a game that chasing oppo were hoping we could slip up. Even if we drop any points tonight, there is so little time left now. For SW of Tykes to capitalise..Think it would have felt a bit different, had we lost at Posh.

Yep West Ham the second time in the play offs (04/05) was the 'Sliding Doors' moment for me. We were definitely one of the best 3 teams in the division that year and deserved promotion, but it wasn't to be and we haven't been as good since (that is not to write off the current side of course, it is hard to tell what with them being a division lower, but they certainly have potential to exceed the 04/05 vintage).
Is this our biggest game tonight in 20 years ???? on 11:37 - Apr 25 with 947 views | Daninthecampo | Yes whilst a win tonight won't guarantee promotion its highly unlikely we won't seal it on Saturday. Also theoretically a win tonight and the Wendies drop any points on Saturday we're promoted without needing any more points A massive game! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Is this our biggest game tonight in 20 years ???? on 12:35 - Apr 25 with 718 views | The_Major | I suppose there could be an argument for our trip to the Emirates in the second leg of the semi-final, considering we were already one up, but the difference is, nobody expected us to do it in a month of Sundays. And of course, Town being Town, the fact it took over 60 minutes for Arsenal to score meant a lot of us were just starting to think "Hang on, you know, we might just do this if we can hold out for another... Oh never mind"

We got battered for those 60 mins though and it was really whether or not we could pinch one or survive, neither of which looked likely. Great support that night including Wilnis and Wright who sat quite close to me. Tonight is not as big a game as Saturdays at Peterborough. If Barnsley win, they’re unlikely to finish above us and Wednesday so it’s all about them keeping their form. For us, if we win, it’ll just about close the door on SW. I’d love us to do it, but should we not, it’s still in our hands. As for Barnsley wanging on about the game being postponed, firstly we abided by the rules and they’d have done the same. Secondly, if they think we bribed the FA how much did they pay that referee for ruling out that goal at PR? Neither happened, nothing to see.
