I'm resigned to not being at the game tomorrow 08:16 - Apr 28 with 2220 viewsThisIsMyUsername

No chance of acquiring a ticket now. Perhaps could have thought about it weeks ago but hey ho, it is what it is

I was going to say that to people wanting tickets, these had been on sale for weeks. The gamble of buying was minimal, at the very least you’d seen a great game, let alone promotion.

Enjoy it however you view it though

I'm actually quite surprised this is the first comment of this type I've seen.

I'm not sure what my excuse is. It's like I got so caught up in thinking about our promotion chances that I forgot to also think about getting a ticket to the last home game. 😂

It does seem to have happened really suddenly. How many of us thought we would go to Peterborough and Barnsley and roll then over comfortably? We're ipswich fans, we don't get nice things!

All the talk for weeks was about it going to the final day. And suddenly it looks like it won't!

There were still tickets after Peterborough but before Barnsley to be fair. Regardless of what happened at Oakwell this was a game that could seal promotion. And there’s no guarantee SW will beat Shrewsbury.

I feel for those who don’t have tickets. Regardless of circumstances all Town fans are long suffering and will be enjoying our success now, it’s a shame not everyone who wants to be there can be there. 40,000 into 27,000 or whatever it is doesn’t go.

I've had a sneaky feeling for a while that Exeter at home could be the game that seals promotion. The run we've been on has just been absolutely relentless and other sides have looked capable of dropping points. Mad that we've overhauled Wednesday, and nearly Plymouth too.

It has been crazy. I didn't dare to dream it was possible. I'd resigned myself to the playoffs and was planning the long distance trips thay would involve, keeping weekends free etc.the playoff final date is the same day as my sons birthday which was causing a few headaches. Could you juts lie to a 5 year old that his birthday is actually a different day so you can go to wembley?

it was only after the Peterborough result that I started to dream it was possible. I'll be happy watching from home, it's how I've spent the the vast majority of the past 18 years as long. As we get over the line.

Plus I haven't completely resigned myself yet. I've entered a Facebook raffle for a ticket!

Last home match of the season should be enough incentive for any fan to secure their ticket when they become available.

Good luck with your search... you never know!

TO be fair, this season has been very different to any season i've known (bar premier league in 2000-2022) in that you do need to be quick after general sale. if you leave it 3 or 4 days then there is only restricted view tickets left.

I luckily got some of those 800 released due to just coming on here at the right time and seeing someone post about it (I owe them a big thank you whoever it was!)

I do think a lot have unfortunately been caught out by the demand for these, rather than waiting to see the other results before purchasing. A couple of colleagues have missed out and they've become home regulars since Jan. Didn't occur to them that they were available to buy as early as they were and then didn't occur to them that they were selling so quickly.

Naive as much as unfortunate in their case maybe!

Agreed. There’s obviously a lot of people crawling out of the woodwork for this one, which is inevitable. There will be some more regular fans who have missed out though just because they’re useless at planning ahead, or maybe just because of financial pressures. I would have missed this if I was hoping to go - ticket releases completely pass me by because for the last 18+ years I’ve always been able to pick one up last minute. Funnily enough, not so many people were avid fans when we were crap lol.

I suppose the emphasis on the game has shifted in a small amount of time from

Last home game before the playoffs
Last (and most 'straightforward') game of a tough run in before final day nailbiter
To bl***y he'll it's happening

No surprise there is lots of demand, especially with people juggling other things and priorities changing.

I wonder what the attendance would be if capacity was no issue. What do we think the maximum could be at this stage for a game like this. 35k? 40k? More?
