Am I imagining it or didn’t the playoff final matches used to be done in an order from fourth tier to second tier over the bank holiday? 4th tier teams on Saturday, 3rd tier on Sunday and 2nd tier on Monday.
I’ve not paid attention to the playoffs since forever so could just be totally wrong. But glad we got automatic promotion otherwise I’d be massively late and hungover at work like I was 23 years ago. [Post edited 28 May 2023 12:52]

they did, it swapped around a few years ago, I think because of concerns about the pitch holding up for 3 consecutive matches across 3 days, and the championship teams wanting the best pitch surface to play on. |  | | |

Only slightly related subject but with Hartlepool demotion to the national league does that only leave the three of us, Blackburn and Crawley that haven’t played at the new Wembley out of the 92? |  | | |

Also Championship tends to be the highest attendance. Much easier to use public transport on a Saturday than a Bank Holiday Monday. |  |
