Dont think I’ve seen mention of Hirst actually wanting to come here permanentl on 19:54 - May 28 with 2461 views | SheffordBlue | This was from the EADT article where they asked him (after we'd achieved promotion): With Town fans chanting 'sign him up', Hirst smiled: "That's always a nice feeling. It means you're doing something right! "But that (his future) is a question for another day, I think. "I've absolutely loved being here and playing at Portman Road. If that is to continue then great. "I'm loving being here. This is without a doubt the most I've enjoyed my football. "The boys, the staff, the fans, absolutely everybody involved with the club from top to bottom have made me feel so welcome and at home. "I haven't heard from Leicester, but I'm cheering them on every second I get because they're going through a tough spell at the moment. "Right now I'm just enjoying the moment. Let's see what happens next." As a loanee I think it would be difficult for him to be firmer on the issue - he remains a Leicester employee and they may have other plans for him

He was telling fans out and about after the game he’s desperate to sign here. Appreciate in that moment he’s not going to say anything else but he seemed very genuine. He was also there for the event at Christchurch Park - he didn’t have to be. TJJ wasn’t for instance. Ultimately it’s out of his hands if Leicester want to keep him but I think given the choice he’d genuinely love to come back here and be the main man.

Not sure the comparison with TJJ is relevant. TJJ has been back at Arsenal/living at home for some months, so this was a trip to Ipswich to join in the celebrations. A nice touch by the club to keep him involved. Hirst is living in the area, a regular starter, and would have been "preparing" for the final game of the season at Fleetwood..

The park celebration was a couple of days after Fleetwood. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
