Woolfy was immense, timing his challenges to perfection. Burgess was quietly efficient, rock solid and prepared to step into midfield a bit too. Those two are good enough for this division, but we do need cover/competition. |  |

Both CBs were good today, and actually Sunderland's attacking play is of the kind I thought Burgess would struggle with, lots of skillful ball carriers rather than big lump to wrestle with. He handled it really well. We do need another CB though as we're light on numbers there. |  |

I'm not getting this urgency to bump Burgess out of the team - was pretty much rock solid in our run-in last season, and has built a good partnership with Woolfenden.

I did think Wolfenden would be able to cope with the way top quality Championship teams would pull us about… but we all had queries about Burgess… but in the end he was the better of our CB pairing at dealing with it |  |
