Listening to McKenna and Chaplin on the way home can't say I agree we were the better side defence was appalling first half . I only thought wolf had a half decent game.
Thought Morsey was the stand out with Burns decent once he got the bit between his teeth.
Although Jackson set a goal up he played because I'm afraid Ladapo either can't or won't close anyone down one works hard with little ability, whilst the other one at this level as a lone striker up against is non existenct personally need 2 strikers as Hirst not yet proven at championship level.

I think the thing is that, whilst we obviously had a few atypical moments of somewhat crappy defending, the overall balance of the game was in our favour.

We also lacked our usual cutting edge with Hirst out (although Jackson did well) and Chaplin and Broadhead both a bit too deep and subdued. But again, we created a lot of chances and should probably have bagged a couple more.

So overall we were decent, but we probably messed up the so-called 'big moments' today. I think there was a little bit of undue nervousness there, more than anything. It's easier to put that right than it would be to turn around a team that's lacking possession and not creating chances.

I thought Woolfie was at fault for their first goal?! He allowed his player to run across the top of 18yard area ( he didn’t marshall him at all )… Burgess looked like he’d lost his s h it completely in that first 20 mins. Like I’ve said for ages, we need stronger CB’s . Today was the first tube any opposition has got the ball into our defending box, and our inability to deal with the player or the ball was evident.

Hladky was responsible for 3 of their goals in my opinion. He allowed the ball to travel across the goal ( expecting it to go out of play?) The Leeds player beats Davis to the ball
(maybe he too was allowing it to go out of play?) But at this level the better players are much quicker. You can’t just “ leave” the ball or the man. You’ll get punished. The other 2 gifts were Hldaky’s poor handling . Pity really as he has done really well since he came into the side. Too many more performances like todays snd give McKenna an easy decision when Walton is fit again.

Reading some thoughts I genuinely think some opinions are based on what you are concentrating on by a player.

Morsy for example. Was good in the battle again..but not only did he also get easily beaten during that first goal.. he had a strange habit of breaking down various attacks by getting to the edge of the box then turning full circle away.

Defence personally wasn't overall that bad as a unit..
We maintained leeds well enough but the goals came from certain issue points which imo were nothing to do with the cbs other than the first.

The other 3 goals came from either clarke not being fit enough to deal with the attack and then you can either blame hladky for not coming for the 6 yard ball. Or not screaming at Davis.. or you blame Davis for not dealing with it himself..

But overall wolfy and Burgess did fine.

Agree re Morsy.

Top player and professional but his speed of thought is just that tiny bit too slow otherwise he would be a premiership player. Always seems to take that one extra touch for me which ends up sometimes closing down a pass that was on had he played it sooner.

That said, if he did have the above then he would obviously be out of our league, such are the strength of his other attributes.

Tough one to take today as we were just as good as them but onwards and upwards.

Better team doesn't really mean anything when we are so wasteful. Burns was the worst culprit.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

It depends how you look at it. Leeds managed the game perfectly imo. Took their chances and then sat back second half and soaked up the pressure easily before hitting us with a sucker punch.

We caused them problems first half but lacked the quality to capitalise. Once they changed approach second half, we barely had a look in despite the possession. 2 big chances compared to their 5 tells you all you need to know. We got into good positions but made the wrong decisions or lacked the technical ability to create good chances.

There’s a lot of positives though. We took a team packed full of better players to the wire and looked the more coordinated team for much of the match. Just not clinical enough. Lacking a bit of individual quality.

What counts as a big chance?

Broadhead 4 yards out.. shot at keeper. Chappers free next to him.. (1)

Burns through to make it potentially 2-0. (2)

Hutchinson volley keeper saved (3)

Burns wack into stand 4 yards out only keeper to beat (4)

Burns tackled just after hitting at the angle 12 yards out ( 5)

Jackson left footed shot low keeper saved (6)

Taylor shot saved late on (7)

If Hirst is playing it's a different game and that is the real issue we need to address. Jackson did very well I thought, and he is a great option to have, but we do need someone a bit closer to Hirsts quality to step in. But, as always with transfers, the good striker is a hard find and an even harder buy.

Three players were done by their one for the first weren’t they? Really poor, but the lad had quicker feet and a quicker turn of pace. Even after he’d got away from Woolfy, he still made Burgess look like a statue. Just better and quicker individually. If we can sign a bit of that in the next week then great, but it may take a couple of windows to slowly upgrade.

Technically 4.

Luongo was there when the initial ball came over too.

4 town players. 1 Leeds player. Goal..

I think a lot of fans simply pick out players they don't like. If JD had played today a lot of fans would have blamed him for goals 2 & 3 as the initial ball comes in from that side of the pitch. But a lot of fans like Clarke, so Hladky's fault this week.

It's collective.

Can't see chappers name mentioned.. but he could have helped more in stopping the cross..

But. The cross wasn't stopped and needed to be dealt with.. it wasn't and that's where you then discuss why not.

The next goal.. keeper has to hold it. Simple. No different to if a striker misses an open goal. It's bread and butter

I blame Clarke and Hladky for one goal Clarke for letting him come inside and Hladky putting it back in the danger zone and Davis and Hladky for one
