And for him personally, it would have been better to stay on. I understand why people are nervous about injuries, but for many of the players playing for their national side is the ultimate goal. It’s a bit selfish of fans to want to deny them that on the rare chance they’ll pick up a serious injury. Let them chase their dreams and just deal with any injuries, because injuries will always be part of the game. IMO of course (spoken as someone who represented their country at youth level). |  |

Another good example of how PL clubs stockpile players in the hope they will come good. stayed at Everton until he was nearly 25 without getting a look in & had the usual nomadic loans. Coming to Town permanently seems to have given his career a real boost & was a great deal for us & him & he looks a snip at £1.5m. |  |
