Why should it be Broad ? remember it's meant to be based on achievement in the sporting year of 2023, it's not a lifetime achievement award given to people whove just retired from sport, see also Frankie Dettori and Ryan Giggs for that matter
Maybe if the team had won the Ashes and his bowling had been pivotal to that success, but they didn't and he wasn't.
