Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's just time served 18:48 - Dec 16 with 2275 views | Mullet | Unlike previous years, I wasn't too bothered about today right up until kickoff, I thought it'd be a fairly routine win. There have been so many great days in the last two years. We're so much better than they are, they'd spent all week making excuses and weird jibes, we've shown such mental strength this week, let alone this season. So to drop points today is massively disappointing. Lids failing to win again takes the sting out of it somewhat by continuing to make sure their mouths, are as big as the gap between us. But it feels like it should be 12 pts tonight. Collectively we played fine, but even in the context of this week it seemed a drop off. Too many individual errors/below par performances seemed to cost us. Had we not had Burgess, the full backs and the like playing so well it might not have exposed the drop off from others. But to me the presses, the passing the movement off the ball didn't seem quite there. Whether Wagner did much to counter them. When they went narrow and lower league in shape and style it seemed like one of those old League One matches where we laboured. But they had enough millions out there to be less clumsy and lax. Rowe's first goal was one of those things. It fell straight back to him and he was in the "wrong" place due to falling over. His reaction was no different to 5 or 6 Chaplin has scored at least. The second one seemed cruel luck given the deflection and Barnes being on the pitch, let alone obstructing view and offside. I thought his challenge on Vaz was a red in any other area of the pitch on first viewing. It was definitely a booking on the replay, and I think that was part of the problem. We seemed to all be waiting for the ref to level things up and there was more chance of letting Delia sing and Ed doing the cooking in corporate today. I doubt the phenomenal success we've had burdened KmcK and the players with a sense of having to win or else for us fans, it'd be surprising to think it got under their skin today. Blue Action, the bus stuff all that was class. The idea it overawed them doesn't ring true does it? We're genuine promotion contenders and it's all about making our best shot at going up. They're just making up the numbers along with their narratives for years to come. But seeing Jackson come on and sit amongst 8 players with no space between them and the North was strange. It seemed perfect to put him out wide and win fouls and put Freddie in the amongst the phalanx of traffic cones Wagner assembled. Their left back looked very good considering we seemed to run him into the ground, Sara doesn't look much based on today beyond set pieces and being the Rodney to Sainz's Delboy of baffling sh1thouery. Rowe looks like he'll have a good Championship career, but beyond that they seemed to be very much like half a dozen teams are every season at this level. Chocked full of players and a middling manager with enough experience or one or two attributes that allow them to compete. I guess a draw today stops them ripping that all up and making a late rally this season towards the top ten as things shake out beneath us. But it feels like a missed opportunity to rout them and finished up more of a car park tussle.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's just time served on 19:06 - Dec 16 with 2153 views | Nutkins_Return | I honestly think we were brilliant. We handled the pressure of the occasion to completely dominate the game from start to finish. The only missing thing was the finishing and it's understandable. Broadhead first half had done everything. Brilliant feet but you could see the excitement shoot through him as he 'knew' he was about to score and just snatched the finish a touch. It happened three or four times (Chaplin had two). Just sods law they take their very few chances which included mishit overhead with kind rebound, both. Eing offside and one deflecting past Hladky who should have done bet (though it should have been flagged. Everything about today was positive for me but the result. We are so far past them already it's frightening.

I don't think there is a context where "brilliant" works when we missed those sitters, Chaplin, Broadhead, Wolfy even weren't near their peaks today. We've smashed far better this season and been way more complete and balanced for me. Mixed bag all over I felt.

Game could and perhaps should have been done and dusted by half time but those missed chances and some poor officiating cost us. Ref/linesmen we can do nothing about, failing to put the ball in the goal is down to us. That said I thought first half we were far and away the better side.

McKenna said it was a good performance and I totally agree on 21:07 - Dec 16 with 1864 views | unstableblue | We dominated proceedings We just needed to be more clinical in the first half We had 65% possession, 18 shots, 5 on target If you ask the Norwich fans and players if it was a below par Town performance I think they say they’d be rinsed. Was Chaplin below par - yes. Was Hutchison below par when he came on, yes. But you get that in a game.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's just time served on 21:17 - Dec 16 with 1816 views | le2blue | Chaplin is the orchestrator of a lot of our forward play and interchange, he was clearly not quite on it, a few missed passes and they marked him tightly so he wasn't able to have the influence he usually does. Sainz in the first half claiming to have been fouled by Clarke and the ref laughing at him and giving Clarke the free-kick pretty much summed up their $hithousery and desperation. We move on.

I got the buzz last night. But I don't personally care we didn't beat norwich as a club. Annoyed we didn't win a game we controlled for 94 minutes but it was just another league game. Do the same v leeds. And it's a great week imo

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's just time served on 21:34 - Dec 16 with 1654 views | Asa | I think it’s awful to go 14 years without beating your rivals when you’re even on all fronts but they’ve dominated us in a period when they were up and down from the premier league with huge pots of money and we were being massively underfunded by an owner who had no interest. They should be dominating us over that period. Now, with us having spent less over two years than they’ve spent on a player or two we are so incredibly far ahead of them it’s laughable. So couldn’t give a tosss that they kept their little record going today. We are the second best championship team by Christmas ever. We are phenomenal and even not at our best today they’ve had luck and decisions to thank for getting a draw when we were wasteful and couldn’t have murdered them.

You can't draw 2-2 and be frighteningly ahead of them. Today reminded me of a lots of home games in the first half of last year. Frequently we were clearly the better team but just struggled to convert dominance in possession and chance creation into dominance on the score sheet. Still a good week for us. Leeds and Leicester are massive.

The "decade of dominance" was a bit weird last time as it'd only been 9 years and involved a lot of draws - I guess it's all they have to cling to now. Even if we don't go up we will be poised to do very well next season I'd guess.

Your last line is key. Going into Boro and Watford, fans were content with a draw from either one and obviously happy we won each time. Whether Norwich simply came at the wrong end of the 3 game week or not, it's better to take points off teams likely to be vying for promotion.
