'I disagree with this Ricardo. As a Norwich fan over the last 70 years you’ve probably seen the most promotions and relegations of any team in English football. You’ve seen us lift 5 trophies by my count which is more than probably 75% of the clubs in those years. We hold the record for most promotions and relegations too and from the Prem. We’ve won at Wembley twice, beaten Bayern away, how many other clubs of our size can claim the same?'
I'm not sure what the five trophies are (it might be six in a non-Norfolk counting system?) - Milk Cup, the thing against Rochdale, plus do they count second and third divisions? If so, I think they've won more than another three or four of those. Perhaps it's five different trophies and they're including the Mr Clutch Cup?
I suspect that's it (an actual 5 not a Norfolk 5):
Milk Cup Mr Clutch Rochdale 2nd Div 3rd Div
How many other clubs of their size can claim the same?

League Cup = 1962 League Cup= 1985 Friendship Trophy (think they've won this a few times) 2nd Division 3rd Division They've won the Hospital Cup a few times They also won that old pre season trophy from a number of years back. The competition finished so they kept the trophy permanently. Can't remember the name of it though.
That’s quality. The whole thread has a whiff of desperation about it. Why do they keep fixating on Bayern Munich away? It was probably the worst Bayern team since Germany collapsed in 1945 and one flippin game. They were breezed past by Inter Milan in the next round.

Is the 'League Cup' in 1962 the thing they won against Rochdale? Was more of a Pizza Cup equivalent then wasn't it?

It's the one bit of European "glory" i guess that they have. When you're a tinpot little shambles of a club, you'll take what you can.

1945 was a pretty good year for Bayern Munich. They were despised by the Nazis for being a 'Judenklub'. They didn't really become a top club, or even the main team in Munich, until the mid 60s.
By that logic, the teams in the lower tiers who play in the Football League Trophy and regularly get to the finals, and the League 1/2 Play Off finals, and yoyo between the divisions must be some of the biggest clubs in Europe.

I remember that preseason tournament. Don't know if it was a shield or trophy. Think it was played between Ipswich, Norwich and Colchester Utd (or maybe Cambridge?). Norwich definitely walked away with it after it was defunct, so are current holders. Wish I could remember the name.

Looked up Watley Cup but that wasn't it.
The Willhire Cup?
Colchester won the Watney cup, in front of a big crowd at the Hawthorns.

Didn’t know that. From Wiki:
The rise of Adolf Hitler to power put an abrupt end to Bayern's development. Club president Kurt Landauer and the coach, both of whom were Jewish, left the country. Many others in the club were also purged. Bayern was taunted as the "Jew's club" while local rival 1860 Munich gained much support. Josef Sauter, who was inaugurated in 1943, was the only NSDAP member as president. After a friendly match in Switzerland, some Bayern players greeted Landauer, who was a spectator, and the club was subject to continued discrimination.
