Ten Hag 03:09 - Jun 11 with 2082 views | SE1blue | Still no decision on his future at Man Utd after they announced a review. Unless they’ve privately told him he’s staying, it’s a terrible way to conduct business.

You think so. I'd imagine the pay off would be massive and hed be crazy to resign. And United won't be that stingy.... they're used to spunking away hundreds of millions on players so one managerial pay off is small fry for them. Just think they're taking their time. They've unsuccessfully hired/sacked for 10 years or so, so why be in a hurry now.

Man U have major change in their footballing leadership structure on 07:43 - Jun 11 with 1718 views | unstableblue | As posted before you have a complete refresh of the management system at Man U And they’re also struggling to finalise the recruitment of key individuals Omar Berrada is new CEO from Man City, on gardening leave till July Dan Ashworth is intended as new Sporting Director - essentially the coaches direct boss - he’s been out on gardening leave by Newcastle. But due to a compensation wrangle that rumbles on, he may not join till the end of 2024 when his gardening leave ends. It looks like Dan Ashworth’s intended number 2, technical director Jason Wilcox who’s joined from Sounthampton is going to take charge of footballing matters in the interim. He is in post. With that temporary set-up in place perhaps they can move on Ten Hag, or wait till mid July and Berrada, who will of course already be pulling strings just not from an office at Old Trafford. There is also confusion on these ‘reviews’ a detailed footballin operation review was completed by the Ineos hierarchy that sit above Berrada prior to the FA cup, which Ten Hag has referred to. But it seems another is happening, perhaps conducted with Wilcox in the building. This level of change is a nightmare for an organisation. With a lot of risk. But is very much needed at Man U who were lagging behind peers in this kind of org chart. McKenna would have been crazy to have joined such flux, and I’d suggest enquiries were that at best from Man U. It may be a message from Old Trafford is we’re needing a complete refresh of our club, we’re going to get in someone experience while that settles and we’ll come back in for you.

Nah, I think they have looked at what's out there (as you'd expect) and concluded there's no one better. StH has started the process of a rebuild, has got rid of some dead wood and is building a good team (Garnachio, Mainoo, Hoyland, Fernandez) More work to do but he came in with Utd in a state. The size of the job was always a 3 to 4 year transition.

Do wonder if they were trying to do too much too quickly in the non-stop environment of the Prem, then got caught out by the sheer complexity of the situation and how long it takes to get the pieces moving. They're trying to do in two or three months what it took Gamechanger a year and a bit to sort out - and at a much higher level, with several key staff members not able to join for some time. Perhaps, also, all those additional layers in the chain of command - each of which will have their own agendas and self-importance - have added inertia and complexity to simply getting stuff fixed. If you have two or three "reviews" going on, then more groups reviewing those reviews, plus more people higher up overseeing that and reporting on up to someone who doesn't work there yet or who has another day-job, that's one heck of a lot of faffing before a decision is made.

In reality, if you give decent managers no time to sort things out, they won't. Not like he's an utter failure, winning nothing and risking relegation. Nor are the issues obviously all down to him.

Almost as if his agent did a rather good job of talking up his leaving to secure him a massive (and deserved) new contract.
