Watched the last ep (focussing on England reaching the semis of Italia90) last night - a couple of very fanciful takes on that as well - England fans stopped being hoolies because they absorbed some of the culture of Italy (!); and the whole tone & nature of football in the UK being changed because of Gazza's tears (ie it became more acceptable for professional players to show emotion).
Whilst the last may well have had a part to play, it obviously wasn't exclusively responsible or the whole story. SBR barely got a mention either. |  |

Because of the narration, it looked like we won promotion he night of the Port Vale game and fans simply filed out of the ground peacefully at 90 minutes. | |
