But it can't be all on him can it, that level of talent should be wise enough to up their levels regardless imo. If as a group of players they're happy to play like that and aren't strong enough to question or change it, then they are as much of the problem

Agreed. Doesn't matter who you play. Just passing it around slowly is boring and predictable.

It just proved, brought the subs on and they were no better.

The above players are only made look good by world class players around them in their respective clubs...

I think we're allergic to crossing the ball from deep. Time and time again we had players making forward runs into the opposition area, just to have to retreat again and watch the ball being passed around aimlessly in midfield. It's no wonder Kane (et al) just gave up.

Definitely had 2016 vibes this game.

No, I'm not buying that. Their clubs would easily replace them if they weren't up to scratch.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

Not even passing it around accurately. Half the time it ended up with a Danish player.

No drive from midfield when we have the ball in our own half mixed with no pressing high when they have the ball. We don't create any gaps as we let the game play with very low tempo.

When you watch town, we win the ball back so often we create our own attacks by defending from the front.

The set up is just so wrong.

4 2 3 1 played in a mick Mccarthy style In a lambert formation.

We have 2 defensive midfielders. One who is a rb anyway sitting in front the back 4 who misplaced every 5 yard pass attempted before hoofing it on the diag.
Tripper slowing down any attack on the left as he has no choice but to cut back
Kane floating around like he's only there to pick up a cap.
Bellingham being made to look like his brother. Raw with something about him rather than the player he's become for his club.
Foden. Best player on the pitch taken off. But showed why you need him in the middle not out wide.

We also leave palmer on the bench unused. Palmer... who was one of the most frightening players this season.

All in all its an absolute sht show tbh.

That simply is not true. Bellingham is the best player at Madrid and Vini Jr plays for Madrid. That is quite an accomplishment. He was also the third best player in The Bundesliga aged 18 and after Lewandoski and Halaand left he was the best aged 19. He was the best player in The Championship before he took his GCSEs. He had an off day today. It happens.

Wake up ..if he's the best player in real Madrid..why does he look so ordinary in the English squad .!! You don't know what you talking about ? He's made look good cos he's got very good players around him that make him stand out that that bit more.....a very good player no matter who is around him.will make things happen and bring in players in to play a lot more. End of..

Whilst I have no stats to back this up
I bet Bellingham has spent more time in and around the opponents box in 1 just half of a Madrid game than he has in these two England games.

You watch his goals. Assists. Contributions for Madrid. They don't start with him dropping into his own half to pick the ball up. He's played in a way that suits his game. Southgate football is not good enough for him. Foden or saka.

I am wide awake. Bellingham has 34 caps and I think I have seen them all. He has looked ordinary for England a grand total of once and that was tonight. Is this the first time you have seen him play for England? There are 2/3 world class players at Madrid being Bellingham, Vini and arguably Valverde and two who are still excellent but are past their peak in Kroos and Modric. That is hardly surrounded. As for Kane, there were two outstanding performers for Bayern last season, him being one and Musiala the other. Musiala I have no doubt will be world class but is not there yet and has, believe it or not, learned from Kane and improved his game by playing with him. All the rest, Coman, Gnabry, Kimmich, Goretzka, Sane, Davies etc have been well below par. The only other player who was good for Bayern made his debut for Germany in 2009. As for World class players at Arsenal. Odegaard perhaps. Rice and Saka don't count because they are only good as they are surrendered by world class players. I am not sure who they are. Martinelli is a very good player, Gabriel and Saliba are great but are defenders. Havertz looks great sometimes and ordinary at other times. Who else, Gabriel Jesus? Dont make me laugh.

Because they are managed by a man who has some good qualities. Football strategies and tactics are not two of them. Southgate is a mid table Championship manager. .

Don't buy that ...they are supposed to be natural goal scorers ..bad manager good manager mediocre manager..shouldn't stop a player from scoring..its all the players around that aren't good enough. To supply ball to them...its,the good players around..saka Foden kane that lays it on a plate for them to make them look good ..yes I agree. Southgate mid championship if not lower..

Despite letting himself down by being a LGBQ Crusader who went to play in one of the most homophobic of countries I can see why Southgate always picked Henderson as he relied on him to counter his weaknesses. He has the tactical awareness, leadership qualities and experience to be able to direct matters on the pitch and implement a plan B. Currently there is no England player who can do that. He is part of the reason that England have done well in the last few tournaments

If that is the case why have Villa who were relegation candidates under Gerrard now qualified for The Champion's League under Emery? Because Gerrard sadly (I love StevieG) seems not to be top class manager material. Emery is.
