I think it depends on the level of player.
Sure, they might be able to drop £50m or more on very top-level targets, but that isn't where the contest is over someone like Philogene. There's going to be a cap on what they're willing to pay on middling-level players (such as a good Champ prospect with minimal Prem experience) - and I think ITFC can play in that ball park.
Indeed, someone like that may be a more significant addition to our squad than to Spurs', so we might be willing to push the boat out a bit further. | |
