Worse than Trippier, offers nothing. Ambling around, not fit. Prove me wrong please. Holland getting on top.

He helped change the game when he came on against Switzerland. Think the issue goes deeper than just him.

This comment aged well that touch and cross shows the quality he has stop judging a player buy a short period of play

He should have started and come off when he was tired. It's really tough to get into a game in progress.

Aren't you judging his quality based on a very short period of play? That one cross and touch was the only thing positive attacking wise he did in that 2nd half.

The OP is correct however it must be remembered Shaw is coming back from injury.

He is a solid player of course. But can't say he showed quality over trippier in this game.

Load of tosh. Subs often make big impacts in games. See Ipswich Town FC as an example

It was a very disappointing second half performance wise but to single out Shaw for being poor is the definition of insanity.

Good balance to the team, strong defensively, THAT touch and cross. Bunch of miserable loonies in here.

Nice to see that no matter what the situation, you can always find a negative.

And on cue, here comes the victim play.

Textbook every time.

You are allowed an opinion (I didn't say you weren't). But I am also allowed to disagree. I am also allowed to call you a miserable facker.

Trippier actually put in a few crosses with his left. Suddenly there's doubt in the Dutch defence as he may now go down the line. Still a poor left back, but then he's not a left back.

If you feel you need to get personal with posters I can't stop that I agree. Its a shame you feel you need to do so rather than discussing why you felt my opinion was wrong. Never mind. Have a good day.

He nullified one of their biggest threats in Dumfries. Not a poor left back, he might not be our best but he is not poor.

True although im also considering the last game where his overlaps and positive attacks created problems so not a short period judgement , was more positive than trippier and added balance im in the agreement if not fully fit better to be an impact sub

I've no issue with his defensive work as left back, doesn't offer anythng going forward.

I still can't get my head around Southgate's thinking here. To take one left back, who is injured and even if he got fit later he's short of match practice having been out of acion for 5 months.

There must be a good English left back, who is fit and available.

Must be.

The offensive positions he takes up are solely to occupy the right side of their defence allowing , primarily Bellingham, and Foden to get on the ball.
I wouldve selected another specialist left back tbh.
Im sure he'll start in the final.
