No, I think he should step down with his head held high. He’s done well, but he hasn’t got the support of too many people now.

Big pants football tonight. Better team by a mile won against an inferior Southgate selection. Surely the end of the road for him.

Is lacking when it comes to getting the best out off top players

Imagine trying to win a tournament by scoring 2 goals in the group stage , and 7 goals in total. Given the amount of extra time, we must have the lowest goals per minute of anyone who made the knockout stages. With Foden who scored 19 in the toughest league in the world, Kane over 40 goals, and Bellingham over 20 from midfield. With that at your disposal it’s so frustrating to play low block, even against weaker teams. Bizzare and frustrating.

I’d be right pissed off if I was an England fan. This is McCarthy football. Imagine spending thousands to be there and watching Southgate throw in the towel before a ball has been kicked. I’m not surprised people are pissed off with him.

Can’t complain - the better team won. (n/t) on 22:13 - Jul 14 with 633 views | Churchman | Errr, too right! 4-1, 5-1 would have been a better reflection of the difference. I’d much rather seen us give it a real go and lose 4-2 or something than that….effort. Spain deserved it, end of story. I think watching ITFC in the last couple of years has spoiled me. Watching a team organised, brave, aggressive regardless of the opposition has been a joy. Watching England? I see McCarthy what we have we hold, every point is a prisoner, negative, hope for a break and hold style of football. It’s yesterday’s news. I think the England young, better players deserve a set up that makes the most of their talent. Freedom to play. That ain’t happening at the moment.
