Didn't look good to me. Burns was really annoyed, the kind of annoyed that players get when they know they might be out for a couple of weeks.

Yeah. Worried me too when it happened, but I think he played on for quite a while didn't he and then walked off fairly easily. Hopefully not too bad.

No, didn't look good at all. He played on for about 15 or 20 minutes, but wasn't moving properly and at one point couldn't make a ball that would normally be meat and drink to him. He looked absolutely gutted when he walked off. Straight down the tunnel, never a good sign.

We're looking a bit thin in those front three positions at the moment. Harness was excellent though I thought.

Oh that doesn't sound good. Although he does have great powers of recovery. Thought his Hamstring had come off at Coventry when he came off and he started the next game.

Important prayer for us.

At least he will still be able to pray from the sidelines.

However, he is an important player too. It was very notable how much we missed players running with the ball with pace without him, Hutchinson and Sarmiento and Jackson. Taylor did well first half but isn't able to do that. Davis was fairly effective for a while but wasn't enough. Harness did well when he first came on but also got dealt with well after a while. The opposition were clearly fitter and very well organised.

Do you think our players have been asked to practice some in game high crosses?

It was really strange that Davis for example got into his usual chappers pass area and was hitting balls high and gar to the box instead and harness and burns both did it on the right along with johnson.

I wondered if it was purposeful as our set pieces were mainly floaty deliveries too. So just wondered if we were just trying something new as it wasn't just a one off it kept happening which was very un town like where we've always drilled balls back across goal

a niche perspective

No idea. I thought that for whatever reason Davis' first couple of crosses were poor and then he put a few better ones in that weren't very well attacked and were well defended. I don't remember seeing an obvious pass on for Chaplin that Davis turned down and I don't think our attacking is usually especially one-dimensional. We missed the dimensions that the pacier players would have offered us. Delap disappointed but I suspect he needs time to get up to speed which is why it is good to have him in for the full pre-season.
