You’d think after 2.5 years of McKenna 13:23 - Sep 30 with 1772 viewstextbackup

That I wouldn’t feel surprised still at how well we play, and how brilliantly coached we are.

Yet here I am, surprised.

Every attack has a purpose, every pass is in preparation for moving us up the pitch.

I leave PR thinking that’s the best game I’ve ever seen, every away game is the best I’ve ever seen. Even if we lose, or draw.

Bring on the bastards in claret and blue

We’ll be good again... one day

We need him to stay for 5 years. God only knows how we do that, but that is what we need to happen. All we can hope is he is really really happy here, and ensure that the ownership group back him 100%. Then he sees that staying here for 5 years is worthwhile / great place to raise his young family for a few years.

We are going to have to get into the Champions League to keep him. I know it is not going to happen quickly, but we have to show enough ambition to make that a reality.

I am not stupid enough to realise that will be extremely hard to achieve, but we have to ride this wave to the max. This is our time.

Clubs like Sheff Weds, Birmingham and even Brighton have copied our model, but we really did strike gold with McKenna.

It makes you wonder how he didn't get a job sooner.

Think KMc said at one of the fans forums that he was waiting for the right opportunity.

TBF it's been a marriage made in heaven. We were at rock bottom, but with great potential and under new ambitious owners with plenty of £££s to invest in infrastructure without impacting the transfer budget.

Don;t want to be a pedant, but have Brighton really copies up? I would have thought it was the other way round tbh.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

Mainly I agree we have copied their model.

But I would argue that Hurzeler is the first young coach Bloom has appointed.

Before that they had De Zerbi, Potter and Hughton. All of whom had experience in top flight football.

The best thing about it is IF he does leave. He's set the club up with a prem identity. You won't replace a KM but at least its a foundation for someone else ( if when it happens

Hopefully there will be some continuity via Ashton and the board to ensure that any successor must be able to take things even further rather than revert.
