Do you get headaches with it?

Doc put me up to 100mg a little while ago, but since increasing the dose my head has been banging intermittently.

PM me if you'd rather not mention it on here.

I'm on 50mg. No headaches. No real side effects.

Truly impaired.

Don’t recall getting any headaches on 100mg but have to say I do remember not liking being on that dose. Stick to 50 now and the doc never seems to review anyway.

I have no issues talking about my meds, and have been on Sertraline for best part of 13 years, ranging from 50mg to 200mg daily when I was hospitalized and on suicide watch. Am currently back down on 50mg. Prior to that I had spent ~10 years on fluoxetine.

Having been treated for Generalized Anxiety DIsorder / Depression for the best part of 25+ years, I have found it to be the most effective SSRI for me , although it does have some side effects for me, massively reduced libido and general emotional "dampening" but without doubt has been a major factor in me not taking my own life, together with counselling and amazing support from loved ones.

Headaches and dizziness were certainly prevalent in the first couple of months, but these did subside - I have found that I need to drink more water but that may be psychosomatic.

My advise is to stick with them, but if side effects do not improve go back to the doc and seek an alternative, citalopram or escitalopram may be options.

Had exactly the same with sertraline . Switched to citalapram and didn’t have an issue

Having spent 4 years on them I’ve been around 9 months off them

Went well. ‘Task’ was a chat with the admin staff to see if my plans would involve more input from them.

First interview I’ve ever walked away from thinking, “did alright there”.

Guess we’ll find out, Thursday or Friday so I’m told.

No headaches (well, no more than normal), just a bit drowsy so switched to taking it at night rather than in the morning. It was prescribed to help with night-time panic attacks anyway.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

50mg a day for the past three years. Occasional stomach cramps but apart from that, nothing untoward.

My doctor reviews it every year and has told me I will probably be on it for the rest of my life.

Thanks for that. Had a head CT not that long ago for something unrelated so wasn’t concerned about anything sinister, but the headache is really intense when it comes on.

I’ll give it another month and if it doesn’t subside I’ll go back to the quack.

Can’t offer any meaningful contribution to the actual question but just wanted to acknowledge how positive it to see the conversation raised and multiple responses sharing their experiences without fear or judgement.

As someone that previously suffered in silence before it was almost too late it’s reassuring that times and hopefully attitudes have moved on.

The fact the original poster had the courage to post and the responses just show what a lovely place this forum can be at times.
