I read KAI as in rhymes with Hi, because of the boy's name, e.g. ROOOOOOOOONEY

But HAI rhymes with Hey.

So I'm going KAI as in Hey.

So it must be Key.............. Oh feck.

He said it's a Swedish pronunciation of a Haitian, therefore presumably originally French, name.

I’m probably an odd one out, but I always use the pre-colonisation Taíno version of the pronunciation, which is ‘Haitian’. I realise it’s not for everyone though.
