Don't really want to talk about VAR when we played some great football 20:45 - Nov 10 with 1760 viewsjasondozzell

But do you reckon the bods in Stockley Park had the memory of Ashton's voice ringing in their ears when it came to those two decisions? Beads of sweat on their brow as they recalled his promise to defend the club to his dying breath (and cut off their oxygen if they repeated Leicester).

Probably immaterial but... Smart move from the club to demand that meeting.

Would like to think that.

But they were quite simply the correct decisions.

Has Howard Webb actually been seen since the meeting?

I reckon he’s tied up in the cupboard with the stairs.

Simple decisions really.

They are correct decisions.... but I was still extremely nervous based on the standard of the officiating we have already seen this season with VAR.

Both VAR decisions were absolutely spot on.
If they were only given in our favour because of Ashton’s complaint then there really is corruption going on. I’d like to think even without what happened last week we’d have got both.

One was clearly handball and the other clearly too close to be a handball.

I was worried about the Davis review in the second half. But sense prevailed, the replay at the time showed Davis jumping off the 6 yard line to block the cross.

I expected the worst in all honesty.

Unlikely as ultimately they just need to get decisions right, although I dare say they’ll be well aware we’ve been shafted 2 or 3 times already this season. Ashton was spot on to be vocal about that and demand answers, we’re not here to make up the numbers and shouldn’t be seen as a soft touch.

Indeed.

Especially the penalty check because from the away end it did look like handball!

Clearly no one at that end of the ground thought the disallowed goal was going to count, the difference in volume when they did score was notable.

Less sure on the handball claim as I didn’t see it.

Good to point out we’ve been hard done by a bit though.

No idea what the official reasoning was as I was watching the LatAm ESPN broadcast, but the Argentinian commentators thought the right call was made as it was just outside the area when it hit his hand.

They also absolutely loved Liam Delap - were saying it was the most they’d seen Cuti Romero struggle against any number 9 in a long time.

Delap might just become an inspired purchase. Slightly better than 1 in 2 return so far. Imagine if we hit a run of great form!.

He was never going to get a game at City with Haaland there. It was a masterstroke to go in for him at exactly the right time in his career.

The reputation boost this club is getting for good recruitment, great coaching, and trusting young players if they are talented enough, is invaluable.
