I think a few* on here threw in the towel a bit after the Newcastle game, but we were unfortunate in catching them at the absolute worst time, both in terms of their form and our lack of strikers.
Looking at the last 4 games though, that's 2 wins and a creditable performance at Arsenal alongside that Newcastle game.
Still a LOT of work to do, and a little extra sprinkling of quality in January is essential, but we've got a chance!

We are right in there, and after a particularly tricky few months on the injury/availability front. You would expect us to grow from here. Doesn't change the fact we need badly to reinforce, you're right, but would be stunned if even the most grim-faced pessimist can write us off now. We have given ourselves a fighting chance for the second half of the season. That result was the one we've deserved all year.
There will almost certainly be more results like the Newcastle one; think people just need to remember that was always going to be the deal. |  |

I think the Town players are looking increasingly comfortable in their new PL skim, and this is being transmitted to the fans. I felt comfortable watching us last night. Filled with immense pride in how every player, was competing with the Chelsea so called super stars. Im expecting Town to push on from last night now. This was no fluke. We’ve been banging on the door for more wins in several games now.

Yep. I've the point a few times about the fact we'll take some occasional punishment - and that is always going to be the way for a promoted team, or indeed any team that isn't quite at the races against a top team. | |

I must admit, I was one that was starting to feel like we were going to have too much work to do to catch up with Wolves/Everton/Palace/West Ham after the Newcastle/Arsenal/Chelsea games but as I stated in another thread last night we need to stop thinking we have to take our points from our rivals. It doesn't really matter where our points come from just as long as we get enough of them! Of course, it would make our lives easier if we were to take points from those around us but the main goal is to get above 35 points.
We should remember that last season, we only managed to win one of the six games against the other top four teams in the league, yet we still finished above two of them and only a point behind Leicester.
This season is a real roller coaster of emotions and I must admit that, at times, I'm finding it hard to adjust to the correct mindset and I'm getting a little sucked into the depressive thoughts that come with more losses than we've been used to since the relegation from the Championship. |  | | |

Think it helped that KM brought in the flat 5 against attacks, for me, the worry esp after the newcastle game was we went into it still playing his normal way, like we just needed to carry on doing the same thing and it will all work out.

Unfortunately Wolves and Everton are 13th and 14th in the form table. We need to outperform those two from now until the end of the season. Those head to head games will be very important. |  |
