Haaland new deal 10:41 - Jan 17 with 760 viewsSwansea_Blue

I can't believe we missed out - a golden opportunity missed to poach him from under City's nose. We only needed to spend more than £234,000,000. Boo Ashton out!

Part of me would love football to eat itself. It's obscene against a backdrop of a rapid rise in the use of food banks, fuel poverty, kids turning up to school unfed, etc.

Don't want him anyway. he's overrated. He's not getting in the team ahead of Delap or Hirst. He can come in as 3rd choice ahead of AAH I suppose if he's willing to accept that.

Ridiculous deal!
At least it means Delap won't go back there now

All he does is run around and score goals. We're better than that

"I'm super happy with the deal" says Haaland.

I bet he is at £500k a week basic.

Length of contract means nothing of course beyond protecting City's asset as he'll no doubt end up at Real Madrid in a few years.

I find this idea quite odd. How many teams have one striker?

Truly impaired.

Just in case you were in any doubt that football finances are completely outrageous. According to reports, his new "basic" £26 million per year salary will be supplemented by bonuses too. He'll no doubt be back, asking for a pay rise a couple of years into his 9 and a half year contract.

I would have thought that, at that length, pay rises will have been baked in. All it means is that he'll be back in a couple of seasons to ask for heftier pay increases.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.
