100% agree. Just nice to have something to cheer about, isn't it?

2 good goals too.

Too bloody right.

Yeah. It's been an exhausting season, suffering disappointment after disappointment but I've been sick to the back teeth of the media taking swipes at us while bracketing us with the other two promoted clubs in their 'worst Prem teams ever' sh1te who, unlike us, have had the benefit of Prem or parachute money for over a decade.

Too right.

That said, the difference in merit payments between 18th and 19th is roughly £3m I believe (every little helps).

Certainly does. They showed some spirit and are keeping going. Well done players and staff.

I watched the game on a tablet on a hospital ward with my mate that I've been going to games with for 16 years. It might be the last win he sees. It's been emotional and puts things in perspective.

Sorry to hear that mate, but glad you were able to enjoy it with him.

And to be ahead of them both shows a shift of power, if you like. It wasn't long ago that Leicester were a Champions League side and last season they beat us to the title. Soton were a long established PL team with England internationals chasing European football.

Us cementing our position above them both (and hopefully finishing there) shows the growth the club has made despite a disappointing season.

It would be fair to say the whole thing was a tad surreal.

It's sometimes hard to see because the difference between the Championship and Premier League is now so huge (and demoralising), but against the only available yardsticks from last year in Leicester and Southampton, we've got better.

While this year will almost certainly end in disappointment, looking longer term, the club will be the strongest it has been in decades. It's no guarantee of continued success or progress, but it's still a long way from being outclassed and embarrassed by Barrow in the FA cup less than 3 and a half years ago!

It won't be enough (even if we beat Wolves) and I'd swap positions with Bournemouth in a heartbeat, but there is undoubtedly a spring in my step this morning that I haven't had for a while. It feels good!

Completely. And if we're going down then I do want to spin it out as long as possible. Beating Wolves on Saturday would doubtless just delay things but it would be nice to go down with 2-3 games to go rather than 5 or 6!

It turns out it was the last game and win he saw as by the Wolves match he wasn't well enough to even listen.
Passed this morning, Suffolk through and through and Ipswich til he died. Rest in peace Mark my friend xx
