Seemed gracious in victory, not gloating at our relegation like some other scummy fan bases might.

Proper club.

They’ve been relegated twice in the last 15 yrs so probably appreciate what Town have been through

A lot of the tier below turned and applauded us - don’t think I’ve ever seen that in a similar situation. And several wished us all the best as we walked to the Metro. I’m a bit biased as I went to Uni there and have nothing but fond memories of the place and it’s people.

Yep, they were fantastic all day.

Got on the train at Darlington, chatting to one of their fans.

Went to the Rose & Crown on the Bigg Market and they were great in there too, and then at the end of the game with the lower tier turning and applauding and then the well wishes outside and on the way back to the station.

Proper fans, proper club.

They’ve enjoyed the success they’ve had this season (and will potentially get in the league), but celebrated it for themselves, not to gloat over us.

I was one of the last few out and there were a bunch of them behind the stewards. Applauding us or joining in with “one Bobby Robson”

absolutely, how the game should be.

and I mean wth is that with all those other fan bases larging it over us about relegation, Im struggling to see why they care so much, and Im ignoring the budgies, Im talking about the seemingly random fans from a number of premier league teams, and other championship teams gloating, who as far as I was aware we've had no beef with.

We went out for a post match meal in Newcastle tonight and were stopped by quite a few Newcastle fans on the way to congratulate the Ipswich players and fans. I have always enjoyed my trips to St James' park, although today was with the disappoint of relegation, even if I knew for some time that it would take a miracle to avoid.

As a veteran of the 70’s I’ve always been bit self conscious of wearing colours at away grounds. Yesterday I didn’t feel at all uncomfortable walking to and from the station or on the platform. Several Newcastle fans spoke to me and all were respectful and polite. Great fans, great club and great team and I wish them well next season.

Yes, thought that in the pub pre-match. Absolutely no issue with away fans and plenty of locals happy to talk football.

I was at Charlton the year they won the league when they had a there trophy lift and we beat them. Their fans and staff were incredible that day and rooting for us to go up.

Barnsley fans after the play off final incredibly gracious too.

Easier to be magnanimous after a 3-0 home victory where your team has benefited from a couple of dubious refereeing decisions.

Yeah that made all the difference, as they had been such a nasty bunch before the game!
