This should clear up the financial implications of the Delap deal 16:22 - Jun 2 with 2596 views | Keno | “The Liam Delap sale will help. His fee was £15m and £3m of that has been amortised already, so if the sale price is £30m then that will be an £18m profit for PSR purposes. So by the time you get there, you’re probably starting 2025-26 at a break-even point in terms of the three-year PSR cycle" It on the inter-web high net thing so much be true https://sportdigest.com.ng/finance-expert-reveals-how-much-profit-ipswich-town-w

And people think Delaps was a bad deal...

You should check out the NFL. Players leave teams, who then pay millions for multiple years. Russell Wilson - who left in 2023 - will be the Denver Broncos' highest paid player this coming season @ $32m/year. But that's a bargain after last year, when he played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but cost the Broncos $53m!!

The ultimate bad deal is Bobby Bonilla. Basically the NY Mets wanted to buy him out of his contract and that was about $6m. However the Mets owner was good friends with some guy named Bernie Madoff who promised some crazy good returns, so instead of paying $6m and missing out on the amazing money Bernie could make them, they made Bonilla a deal. Wait 10 years and then we'll pay you $1m+ dollars a year for 25 years. Bonilla gets a retirement fund while they can invest the $6m now in a sure-fire, definitely not a pyramid scheme investment! They bought him out of his contract in 2000 and they won't make the final payment until July 1st 2035. It's jokingly celebrated every year as Bobby Bonilla day. [Post edited 2 Jun 23:02]
