Freshner for the games short term (comes into it) but more for the overall season I would say. Like a lot of what McKenna does there is some risk and reward to it. Ultimately so far the risk has not paid off completely from the short term perspective and we will have to see on the longer term side of it. I was surprised how stretched we looked second half yesterday on the odd occasion they did have a brake with some players looking shattered.

I just wonder if that chance or similar falls to Nunez having started and maybe occurring earlier the game whether the buzz from the QPR match whether he would have been calmer with the finish?.... its all hypothetical though

Think that’s being generous to Nunez (and Taylor) tbh. Jack Clarke seems to manage ok to find the target coming off the bench

I would too. It’s our best midfield and they need to play together to establish that relationship. I know why McKenna does it and it may well pay dividends as the winter takes hold. But I wish for now he’d keep changes to a minimum. But then I’m old fashioned and I think he knows what he’s doing a little more than me! | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Hard to say really. On the first half we had a bunch of free kicks just outside the penalty area, it was frustrating at the least that Nunez wasn't on the pitch to take them.

That's fair comment and I thought the same thing at the time. I suspect that the percentage of free kicks that lead directly to goals is relatively low. Personally I would have started Nunez, but my initial post was more aimed at the glaring chances that we missed in the second half
