Come on man, everyone knows that the Guardian is just for people 'who claim to be highly educated with a smug sense of superiority because its so unapologetically left wing and uses big words to make them feel clever'.

That appears to be fake news. A search reveals no article by Owen Jones to that effect, and this suggests the website is pretty dodgy.

But well done you for linking it because a lie is half way round the world before the truth has got its pants on.

That's me to a tee.

And it's funny how the Guardian appears to live rent-free in some people's heads.

Fake news.

I mean it’s quite clearly labelled as a ‘parody’ account…

Is this some sort of double whoosh?

If only social media were that simple.

In my view, if that were widely circulated, the vast majority would take the central message in the post, which I believe is the point of such websites because they play into and reinforce prejudices.

Surely if that were the case it would be better to masquerade as faux news, rather than a clearly labelled satirical account (regardless of whether you find it funny or not).

Removing satire from the internet because some people are a bit thick seems a little dystopian (and surprising, as I see you as more at the liberal end of the spectrum). You could end up with censorship of political satire content which would make for a very dull. Best delete my spitting image follow in case people think the puppets are spreading fake news.

I have never called for the censoring of the internet but that doesn't mean I think what goes on there adds much in the way of enlightenment.

You literally linked a genuine Guardian piece the other day that had Shabana Mahmood being dragged from her bed, put in an orange jump suit and deported from the UK.

That you didn’t recognise that as parody, probably says more about Owen Jones…
