How has our points returned compared to your first thoughts in this run in 18:41 - Apr 19 with 600 viewsFrimleyBlue

I thought nodge would be a loss
Pompy a win
Boro hopefully a win but perhaps expected a draw

I did tho have brom. Charlton and qpr down as wins with Southampton a draw.

I was thinking a draw today but lose to nodge and beat pompey tbh. I was hoping though that Southampton would have dropped a couple of points by now.

Looks like my gut was correct. But not in the order I expected.

How many points will we get from the next 3 games? by GlasgowBlue 8 Apr 14:02
Heart says 7 D/W/W
Head says 6 L/W/W
Gut says 4 L/W/D

Was saying after the game, that if someone had offered us 4 points from Norwich and Boro, you'd have been delighted with it.

Just that turkey midweek that has spoiled it. Even a point there and it would have felt like a decent week overall.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Mad way of looking at it, we’ve got 4 from 9 which is under what we need lol.

Just leaving Pompey completely out of it. You can’t really do that.

Poll: Ok gut feeling then, promotion?

Eh? I literally said "just that turkey mideweek that has spoiled it".

It's been a disappointing week overall, just not in the way we feared it might.

To be fair it was a very early start here, need a coffee.

It’s such a downer of a week after the start we had for sure.

Was never confident going to Norwich, ditto Portsmouth - genuinely surprised so many people thought we'd turn them over. Always feels like a horrible away day.

Always confident at home and against teams that try to play, so I had today down as a win. So actually we've exceeded my expectations or at least matched them.

I can't see it not going to the last day. We've not strung many winning runs together all season, and now it's proper squeaky bum time so it feels even more unlikely. I think we'll stumble to the last day and need something, but I think the other sides will be similar. Obviously the ominous looking one is Southampton, so it just depends on whether they can continue winning every game.

I tend to look at it more pragmatically than that, not focussing on individual results. We really wanted 6 points from those 3 games, and got 4. Poor return.

However, before the Norwich game we needed 15 from 7 to be certain of 2nd. We gained 4, so should now need 11 from 4 but due to other results we actually need 9 from 4. It’s likely to be less, but we can’t rely on that or afford more ‘Portsmouths’. Win on Wednesday, and I suspect a draw with the Saints sees us over the line. But this is the final stretch in the Championship, and I’m sure there will be more twists yet.
