Are Rice and James out? What’s the selection for Panama? 07:57 - Jun 26 with 1579 viewsunstableblue

Panama are out.

But apparently play a bit open and attacking than we saw from Ghana.

Sounds like Rice and James will be rested. Really hope Rice can be fit for Weds.

I’d go:

Pickford
Spence Konsa Stones O’Reilly
Anderson Bellingham
Madueke Rogers Rashford
Kane

Why not?! Bellingham has an engine and can tackle

Looks like James is definitely out if reports are correct.

Not replacing Livramento with another full back is starting to look like a bit of a silly move, given that Spence and O'Reilly are now our only two fit full backs.

If not Spence on the right it'll probably be Konsa, which is not ideal.

It sounds like Saka is fit to start now, and as much as Noni is a tryer, he has very little end product, I think Saka takes his place now, same with Rashford on the other side. I also thinks he settles on his defence now, the exception being James who I think gets a rest. Konsa to cover rb, Spence looks so far out of his depth. A Massive oversight to not bring more fullbacks.

Rice looks like he needs a break, I think he'll play Mainoo/Henderson there rather than drop Bellingham back, he won't want to miss an opportunity to have arguably England's best attacking 3 behind Kane ahead of the knockouts.

Pickford
O'Reilly
Guehi
Stones
Konsa
Anderson
Mainoo
Saka
Bellingham
Rashford
Kane

It seems both injuries are not too serious. But don’t risk them for the Panama game.

James has had terrible history of hamstring problems, but he’s had a good season of fitness and I think that’s why Tuchel made the gamble.

I quite rate Spence and Chalobah. So perhaps we’ll have enough. But questions will be raised if James gets ruled out of tournament.

A fully firing Rice seems important to England, his engine, set pieces and protection of the centre backs.

But do you think Bellingham could play that role? He’s also got an engine and can tackle.

If Rice fit some saying Roger’s should go into the Gordon/Rashford role.

Bellingham can play there but its just whether you wan to take him out the 10 when he is playing well there.

Could see him just dropping Mainoo in tbh.

That’s a good shout

He’s not quite Rice but he’s got some attacking moments in him

Spence over Konsa at right back through

Thing about Madueke starting it saves Saka for later rounds, and also it wears the opposition out for when Saka gets his 20mins!

I would say Kane, Rice, Bellingham and James are our "world class" players - so injuries to two of them is less than ideal.

Just a game all about minutes in the legs isn't it? Just get as many of the players who haven't started yet in the team, give them 60 and swap around.

he can tackle, but he can also mistime a tackle and lose his head. don't need him getting a stupid red and missing the knockout.

mainoo would be far better there or even rodgers

James isn't world class.
Kane, Rice, Saka, Bellingham & potentially Anderson are our world class players.

Really surprised he never took another RB, James injury record always made it likely he would be injured at some stage in the WC. Even more puzzling as Tuchel worked with James at Chelsea, so should know that.

Plus having a TAA is the type of RB who would help you open up the low block teams, with his rapid overlapping.
