I do. But one of them will probably be sitting watching rather than involved in the squad.

I wonder which player from the Palace squad Frimmers expects to drop out completely. Kipre or Ouattara?

No kipre, greaves on bench
Quattara on bench

IMO if O'neil wsa planning on Quattara as a RB he'd have played their more

But from O'neil saying some suprised him midweek...... Furlong I think will be that, he coped quite well.

Furlong isn't good enough for the PL.

If it was Diop and DoS as the CB's, DoS would be the LCB, which he was last week when Greaves went off for Outtarra.

His name is spelled with an O at the beginning, not a Q.

And I’m not talking about Kipre or Furlong or Greaves (although obviously O’Neil is).

Better to stay silent and be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt

There's a world of difference between surprising him and going from not in the squad to starting ahead of someone who has been ever-present so far.

It's also quite remarkable how different the opinion is on who impressed. I thought McAteer was the stand out personally. Philogene, Mehmeti and Clarke all looked skilful but without sufficient impact on the game.

Those who most surprised me most were Dowman and Salmon as well as Gyokeres (for completely the opposite reason).

Why does everyone want Greaves dropped but not Diop who has been the poorer of the two? Baffling.

Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

McAteer gave away the ball for the first goal and was poor for the rest of the game. Clarke came on and got an assist after just one minute. Definitely seeing things differently.

Two things were better at the back against Palace:

O'Shea looked more comfortable at right back, defending and attacking, which he was always bound to do as he's a quality defender with real pace.

Also Diop was much better and more disciplined than in his previous appearances.

In conjunction, that made our first choice back line look pretty good, and there's no way it changes now...
...unless we go to a three of course! )

Definitely hadn't noticed that as I watching at the stadium rather than highlights but watching the highlights back now I see what you mean. It is partly Nunez but it wasn't a great pass. It's also on halfway and the parting of the Red Sea that follows was very much more responsible for the goal.

The reason I thought McAteer did well was that he put in some excellent tackles keeping Eze quiet and got forward well. Unfortunately he didn't get the final ball right which was in common with most of them really.

And, yes, I was harsh on Jack Clarke. He did have an impact as well as looking skilful.

But what is the logic behind those thoughts? Furlong isn't Premier League quality and Greaves is a natural left footer who works well with Leif Davis.

Kipres plays lcb plenty of times yet greaves got full 90 midweek when it could have been kipre with either oshea or diop.. so makes me think the plan is greaves to drop out.

Furlong O'neil spoke very highly of and of those who played the other night i think he was one of a few that may have suprised him. Other players imo did what they usually do.. some at high level. Some poorer but suprise wise only a few i reckon.

I have called for outtara to go RB but he hasnt played there much for us so think he will go bench to cover lb or other positions.

I saw Quotorro somewhere earlier.

Maybe the Spanish, bovine, double denim version?

Sounds like Francis Rossi being rather bullish.

If we sell him, does that mean he can become Quitarro?

It was a terrible pass by McAteer, which did not give Nunez a chance.

His general performance was equally as bad. It blows my mind how someone, watching the same game could have seen anything other than that.

I'm sure he is a lovely lad but he his ability doesn't even get him starting for any top 10 Champ side.
