When a manager comes in and does well in the middle or end of the season, I never take too much stock in it. Look at the guy that replaced GON at Wolves and the year they had after. Carrick is just another OGS on the United rotation. |  |

It was pretty much a 'f#ck it, this will do' appointment as he was already there and doing OK short term, but anyone could guess that he wasn't going to be the right choice for a club with title aspirations. |  |

Dont agree it was a half but i meant they had a huge slice of luck with the Nunez slip because without that i believe we'd be leading at HT and that walk off the pitch for them would be very different... i dont dispute we fell apart for a while after the Maguire thing but we did rally late on even if theyd eased off. I really didnt rate them as a top 6 side certainly at HT. | | | |

Yeah, agree. Their way is to replace an outgoing manager with the opposite type. When Carrick goes, they’ll probably bring in an experienced, older European manager, not someone who worked alongside him before. |  | | |
