Erm, on paper it looks good. Although there’s a creeping element of control in the game and it’s not just us. Massive fences going up around grounds, ramping up security checks, clampdowns on traditional fan behaviours that aren’t particularly antisocial (how long before the end of season celebratory pitch invasion disappears?); sanitising and controlling where and when you can stand. It increasingly feels like clubs view fans as a necessary evil that needs to be controlled and kept in check. That kind of plays into Jasondozzel’s thoughts about posh training facilities being ivory towers too, where the wealth gap and disconnect between the ever richer clubs and the fans seems to be growing.
Or maybe that’s just sentimental bollox and another way of saying ‘things aren’t like they were buh’. |  |

Football is just content to them, more background content for the phone scrollers, and content to create more 30 second content around, talking about the drama of it, for people mindlessly scrolling their phones. They can afford to run these games in empty stadiums, as Covid-proved. It's not about us, we don't matter, unless we're supplementary content creators!
