Town scout Martin Dobson has written his first novel. The former England, Burnley and Everton midfielder has been working for the Blues on a freelance basis since Joe Royle's time at Portman Road.

Dobson's book, Ultimate Goals, is aimed at the teenage market and, according to the blurb, is a tale of two players: “Jake, a young football player, is from a stable background. Ricky has an abusive stepfather and turns to drugs; but a concerned schoolmaster realises that football could be his salvation and Ricky joins a small Championship club. They make their way through to the FA Cup final when Ricky and Jake come up against each other for the first time.”

Ultimate Goals is available via TWTD here and is one of very few books with Town connections out ahead of Christmas.

Aside from Dobson's book, Ray Crawford's autobiography, Curse of the Jungle Boy, which you can win via TWTD, and Alan Brazil's Both Barrels From Brazil: My War Against the Numpties there are, as far as we're aware, no other new publications on the market.

Former striker Brazil was back in court in Bury St Edmunds again yesterday where his drink driving case was adjourned until December 11th.
